Customer Reviews Confused by other review November 2, 2008 LA Mommy (Los Angeles) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
There was no hardware in my product. You screw the cylinder umbrella holder into the base without tools or parts. It fits perfectly. Takes 1 second. Perhaps they upgraded the design since other reviewer. Am very happy for the price. Weighs 40 pounds, how Amazon can ship and sell all for $15 is incredible. Its not pretty, made out of the cast iron metal that is not highest quality, and yes, it will rust, its cast iron...but so cheap! Fine for the garden.
A little good, a little bad, one buyer a little sad, still kinda glad July 20, 2008 L. Stevens 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I was looking for a sturdy, simple umbrella base. This certainly seemed to fit the bill in its description. It also appeared to be a pretty good value. Sadly, when it arrived we discovered that two pieces of hardware were broken: a cracked knob and a bent washer. After contacting Amazon customer service, I was given the manufacturer's contact information. Everyone could not have been nicer, but sadly I was sent the wrong replacement parts. I now have a bag of mystery hardware. I'm willing to share. Anyway, we got the stand assembled with spare parts and plunked the umbrella inside. Here's the lasting problem: after less than two weeks I am starting to see discoloration/rust on the metal. Will I survive? Yeah, I'm thinking that I will, but there is a twinge of disappointment here.
