Customer Reviews Worked for four years, still under warranty November 26, 2008 J. Travis Lauricella (Tacoma, WA)
I bought this in early 2005, and it's worked fine until October 2008. It has a 1 year warranty for most parts, and a 5 year warranty for the sealed system. Fortunately (?), the compressor seized up, and that's part of the sealed system. The warranty repair took two trips (one to diagnose, and an all-day trip to replace the compressor), but it was covered. The refrigerator part can hold a flat of water bottles easily, but is just a little too shallow to hold 12-packs of Coke in the long dimension. The freezer freezes solidly -- what more could you ask? No frost issues at all. Wheels are optional.
If it is like the refrigerator - it's good October 12, 2008 J. Woodward (Beaverton, OR) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am doing something I rarely do - "reviewing" an item I do not own. There is only one other review (at this time) and it is from someone who clearly does not own the item, but forgets to mention that part. I could not let his stand as the only one when it also has false information. Contrary to what the other reviewer states - this does in fact hold the stated 21.0 as promised - 15 in the lower section and 6 more in the top section...at least based on reading the item listing. What it holds in real life I do not know because I don't own one. I do own a companion piece (the Gladiator GarageWorks Chillerator) and am very happy with the quality of workmanship - if this is built anything like that I know we would love to get it. We are currently in the market for a freezer, and this one is high on the list. I am forced to give it stars - so I give it five based on my experience with the refrigerator. Just an FYI - When we purchased the Chillerator it was from ABT. There were no problems and everything went as smooth as possible. A good review would be from someone who actually owns it and can speak to how this item specifically is the same or different from the listing, rather than just explaining the listing itself.
UL listing is of little interest or use... June 2, 2008 Charles Barnard (Menomonie, WI USA) 2 out of 12 found this review helpful
UL (Underwriter's Laboratories--a test center founded by the insurance industry and paid for by it's users, only rates ONE aspect of any machine--will it start a fire. While it's a very good thing to have, and you probably don't want to buy an appliance without it, most appliance manufacturers will be listed. Note that the appliance is called "21.0" cubic feet, but is actually useful for a bit over 15 cu feet--these appliances, like monitors and tv's are measured in a non-intuitive and frankly misleading manner. The rating for this one is for how much space it takes up, not what it can hold.
