Customer Reviews Perfect for TWO! May 30, 2008 F. K Walker (Smyrna, TN USA)
I recieved this item as a gift from 'Nana & Papa' for my twins who just turned two! They love sitting at the 'big kid' table. Mommy enjoys that it folds easily and compactly out of the way when it's not needed, or we have lots of guests in the house! I have also found cleaning it super easy!
Table not meant for climbing on February 19, 2008 R. Anderson (Waipahu, HI) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this table and chairs for our toddler when she was about 14 months old. We decided to get it because we thought it would be more useful over the long run than something with attached seating. Our daughter is now 24 months old. The table is not very sturdy. The legs are not solid plastic, and as such, they are wobbly. The table has a slight lip to the edges which helps things not fall over the edges. The maximum weight recommendation on the table is 10 lbs, so clearly a child should not be allowed to climb on it. It is hard to make a toddler not try to climb on it, but now that our daughter is older, she doesn't even try. When she was younger, we would make sure to put at least one side against a wall for stability. I would not recommend this to a baby that isn't walking steadily, as the table will not support a child who is about to fall down, but will fall over on the child. The chairs are sturdy and durable. The folding is a nice feature. On the flip side, the chairs do not slide nicely on carpet. We have regular plush carpet and a premium padding under it. As such, when our daughter would climb into the seat, she couldn't pull it closer to the table, and then when we pushed it in (with her in it), she could not push it out on her own. She would get stuck, and then cry, or if she pushed off on the table edge, the chair would tip over backward. The chair is the right height for the table, but if your toddler is short, than sitting in it would be uncomfortable as their feet would be dangling. So, now she pushes it in, then somehow manages to squeeze herself into the chair, so that she's right up against the table. She enjoys putting her stuffed animals in the chairs. Overall, the table has become useful for building blocks and eating snacks and other things. She likes to go under the table now with her toys to play with them (and possibly go #2).
Very Unhappy April 26, 2007 Keep Looking (Michigan) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We received this item as a Xmas gift last year and within 4 months the legs have broken. My two year old twin boys loved playing at the table but sadly the durability of this product was very poor. The legs were very unstable upon receipt of the item. We were extremely dissapointed which is unusual being that it was a Step 2 product.
