Customer Reviews Magnador Two Way Plastic Pet Door December 19, 2008 Michael J. Perrotto
We have a 3'x6' pet pen we keep in the kitchen to contain our Yorkshire terrier whenever we go out. We would have duplicate food, water bowls and pet beds both inside and outside the pen. We decided to only have these items inside of the pen, eliminating the duplicity. Since there was no doorway on the pen to allow her to enter and exit freely, we purchased the Magnador Two Way Plastic Pet Door. Although it's designed to go through a wall, with a few added pieces of wood frame and after cutting out the required rectangle opening, I was able to install it on the pet pen. Now she is able to enter and exit the pen whenever she wants food, water or to just rest in her bed. The next issue we faced is how to easily lock the door when we want her to remain in the pen. The unit does come with two plastic bolts to keep the door from swinging in or out; however we found them too cumbersome and time consuming (to install) to use on a continuous basis. We wanted something simpler. For just under two dollars I purchased a slip type door bolt and installed it on the outside of the pet pen. Whenever we want her to remain in the pen, we simply slid the bolt to the closed position. This prevents the door from swinging out from the inside, therefore containing the dog. The Door is made of plastic which is strong enough to contain our small dog. There is a magnet to keep the door in the closed position (swung down position) and as I mentioned, we installed a slip/bolt type door lock to keep her in pen. Great Quality, Good Price and it works - what more would a consumer want.
