I like this style of furniture, but at the time of purchase (about 8 months ago as of Sept 2008) I wasn't ready to commit to any furniture due to an upcoming potential move from LA to Europe. This clock fits the bill in that sense. It's nice looking and relatively cheap.
On the other hand, if you're looking to buy and keep something for more than a couple of years I would not recommend this clock.
- The chime is tinny and cheap sounding - Reasonably close examination (i.e. stand right in front of it and look at it for 10-15 seconds) doesn't hold up, it starts to look like a cheap knockoff - I've had the pendulum simply stop several times far before the winding time expired, and I just needed to set it swinging again
The time is easy to adjust, just twist the little knob at the end of the pendulum, so tinkering with that is easy enough. Good short-term buy.
