BeaterBlade can also be used for mashed potatoes, compound butters, meatloaf, pie fillings, gum paste and more!Patented BeaterBlade ???wing-system??? design acts like a wiper blade that continuously scrapes sides and bottom of bowl while it mixes. | Customer Reviews Read 16 more reviews... It is going to cost $40 to have my mixer fixed after using this product. January 6, 2009 Hilary (Seattle, WA USA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
It is going to cost me $40 to have my Kitchen Aid "6 Quart Professional" mixer fixed. The Metro Beater did not fit in the bowl so I used the screw on the Kitchen Aid mixer to adjust the bowl height. However, in the process, I pushed the screw so far back into the mixer it fell out through a hole in the bottom of the mixer. There is no way to put the screw back in the mixer by hand. The mixer base has to be taken apart by a professional machine to replace the screw. I think this is a terrible product flaw on the part of Kitchen Aid. When I called Kitchen Aid, they told me it is standard on their "Professonal' series of mixers. I told them this is the last Kitchen Aid product I will ever purchase.
~My FAVORITE Accessory!~ January 5, 2009 Dawn Schanz 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After a little swapping--the BeaterBlade my husband bought me for Christmas didn't fit my Professional5 Plus stand mixer--I finally got the right BeaterBlade and I love it. It can be frustrating when using my stand mixer to have to stop and scrape the bowl all the time, but those days are over! The BeaterBlade works so well that I wish I'd had it all along. If you use this attachment for what it is intended, you will wonder what you ever did without it. Make sure you get the right BeaterBlade for your model--Beater Blade's website can tell you which one you need--but do not be afraid to buy one of these. It immediately became my favorite KitchenAid accessory!
Why didn't Kitchen Aid come up with this? January 4, 2009 Rosemarie Smith (Sunnyburn, PA)
After reading the reviews, I decided to give this a try for my new 6 qt Kitchen Aid. It has not disappointed me. I have used it for frosting, cookie dough and bread dough. It worked great! I can't believe Kitchen Aid has not produced these as an accessory to the mixers. I have now ordered one for my old 5 qt. Kitchen Aid (which still works like a horse after 30 years of use and abuse by me making bread dough with it.) I have also ordered one for each of my sisters for their new 6 qt. Kitchen Aids. The only drawback I can see, is the use of plastic for the blade. I question how it will hold up with the heavy doughs, like bread dough and cookie dough.
Good product, open with care! January 1, 2009 Russell Buttram (Virginia)
This works exactly as you'd expect. Be careful when you open it. The clam shell it comes in cut the silicon bowl scraper when I opened it (my fault, I was in a hurry and it is necessarily soft). The other side scrapes the batter down on the next rotation, so it isn't the end of the world.

When I purchased my Kitchenaid pro 5 plus mixer I thought all of my mixing problems would be solved. WRONG! I hated my mixer until I found this item. Now I am looking for things to mix up! This works great and NO bowl scraping required. I've made everything from cookies to mashed potatoes and this blade is a lifesaver. I can't believe Kitchenaid let someone else come up with this nifty idea. I have no use for the paddle blade that came with my mixer-it is packed away and I don't imagine I will ever use it again. This item might seem expensive but it is well worth the money especially when you condiser how much your mixer costs-might as well use it to it's fullest.
