Customer Reviews Read 2 more reviews... NOT INDESTRUCTABLE December 3, 2006 Amy (NC)
The video Now Jr has been GREAT for car trips and when I need to occupy my toddler while shopping and etc-BUT it is not 'virtually indestructable' as I keep reading everywhere. We've bought two. The first started sort of shorting out after about 5 months. We bought a second and left in the car overnight on a cool night (40's) and now there is sound but no video. We'll probably even buy another because it makes travel so much easier but ignore the 'indestructable' part. It is sturdy enough that it won't break when dropped from the height of a toddler...that is the extent of 'abuse' it will take.
Looks cute, but a piece of junk... November 30, 2006 C. Loxley
I bought this for my son's birthday, because it looked like the "perfect toy" for a child his age. He opened it, and when we put in the batteries and pressed "Play", there was no sound. We tried another disc, then another, but still no change. We even changed batteries three different times, but no sound whatsoever. I think I made a big mistake buying this toy. I'm glad others have had good experiences with it, but the only "good experience" that I would like would be to get a full refund for this piece of junk! BEWARE!!!
Super Toy!! October 10, 2006 Nancy Muritz (Maryland) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this player for my 3 year old granddaughter and she loves it so much. She carries it with her in the car and even took it to the hospital last year when she was admitted with the flu. She was so sick but that little video player sure did help her hospital stay. Her 1 year old sister liked it so much that she played it and played it until it just stopped working! Unfortunately, Hasbro doesn't provide repair, so I am buying them each one this year for Christmas. The player took quite a beating before it stopped working and I feel that those children got the moneys worth of enjoyment out of it. Nothing lasts forever. I honestly feel it just wore out from all the use it got! I would highly recommend this toy!
This toy is SUPER!!! June 15, 2006 Joslyn (Somewhere) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this toy for my daughter after seeing it in a store on a trip to LA. The trip home to New York went as smooth as silk even though we had a long layover. She loves the color and the big buttons and the fact that she can use it on her own. Since getting it, every time I pick up my car keys, she scrambles to find the videonow so that she can take it with her. This is great for a toy that I thought would never last a week with her. She won't make a move without it! I am thinking about getting another one to keep in the car for her!
Helpful advice to parents purchasing video now jr May 25, 2006 S. Nee 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I purchased a video now jr for my 2 yr old, 2 years ago, I did have problems with it, so I called hasbro, they replaced it free of charge w/out a reciept, they sent me a new one, then the same problem with the screen happened again, I called hasbro back again, and they said they were finding a link to the problem with batteries, they said to only use energizer batteries, I have not had one problem since and that was 2 years ago, for longer last for your children with batteries buy the lithium double AA's. They last!!!
