This would have been a brilliant 5-star EP, but the track LOST+ (with Jay-Z) is HORRENDOUS, and effectively reduces this to 2 stars. Viva La Vida is not only a monumental work of art from our beloved Coldplay; I regard it to be one of my favourite albums - period. So, not to pick on Jay-Z: the idea to add a rap track (from anybody) over the already perfect composition "Lost" is akin to taking a crayon to the Mona Lisa. Fine, somebody had the idea. Fine, forgive Coldplay for trying this. But why, dear God, WHY was this actually released!? The fact that this was released is, in my humble opinion, completely indefensible and unforgivable.
Finally Coldplay sounds like a band made for the A list December 13, 2008 Leendert Poot (Fairfax, VA United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Finally Coldplay shook of the Arena ramshackles that suffocated their songs and made their songs sound alike. This is by far their best effort ever. Songs that can withstand time. Lets hope they are making more of these albums. I will keep buying them.
Great Addition to a Great Album December 2, 2008 Pandaman 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I got this product when it was on 99 CENTS here on Amazon.com. I would have to say that Viva La Vida was alreay one of my favorite albums of all time, but this new EP makes it indefinitely just that--my favorite! This album has to be one of the only that I have not had to pick away at to get just a few good songs (with digital music these days...) GREAT JOB!!!
Great "B-Sides" Album December 2, 2008 Mungo 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Man, I love this. Life in Technicolor is a great peice, and the re-version is great. Lost has been remixed with some Jay-Z, and we have some new songs. Honestly, it's worth the one dollar.
Track by Track Review November 29, 2008 LAMBxROAST (USA)
Prospekt's March is a great album, and I was able to get it for only $0.99. I'm going to review it track by track. Life in Technicolor II: Very much like the original Life in Technicolor, with the same type of melodies and beat. Coldplay has added lyrics as well as playing time to this. An addictive track that is worth owning. (4/5) Postcards From Far Away: A short piano piece. Surprisingly soothing, and perhaps forecasts more Coldplay piano pieces? (3.5/5) Glass of Water: Probably the best track on the album. A catchy song with a nice rhythm, well-played guitar, and good lyrics. (5/5) Rainy Day: I don't get this song. It reminds me of Revolution 9 on the White Album. An oddity in a sea of good music. (2/5) Prospekt's March/Poppyfields: A slow, vocal song that is definitely sung on a sadder note. One of those songs that appeal to some people and not others. Listen to it and make up your mind yourself. (4/5) Lost+: A nice change-up to Coldplay's usual song type, with a lot of background beats/noises. It is also featuring Jay-Z, and there's a little rap section. I liked it. (4/5) Lovers in Japan (Osaka Sun Mix): Not that much different than the original of the song. A good song with an interesting beat. (4/5) Now My Feet Won't Touch the Ground: One of the really good songs on the album. Quieter, but with a good chorus and a nice sound. Probably my next favorite after Glass of Water. (5/5) In conclusion, this album is definitely worth a buy. This is an EP with as many songs as some albums, and the songs aren't secondhand rejects like on many EPs either. And, it's Coldplay. Go buy. Now.
