Customer Reviews Read 7 more reviews... Best Dance Album Ever October 22, 2008 Corey Gilley (Longview, TX USA)
This one is a classic. Anyone who likes awesome basslines or dance music in general should have this CD. Every single song on it is great. Another plus is that it is good clean fun suitable for the entire family. Amazon should change the album cover they are displaying, however. The one they show is the original release but the one you will actually receive has a pink and purple cover with Ya Kid K on the front. It is the rereleased 1992 version.
Still great after all these years October 19, 2008 Marcell Orosz (Budapest, Hungary)
I can still remember the summer of 1990, when idiot kids, including our little gang consisting of 13-year-old guys, hanging around Lake Balaton (the "sea of Hungary") and "serious adults" alike were dancing to the hits of this album like maniacs and did anything to make the DJ play "Pump Up The Jam", "Get Up", "Move This" or "Rockin' Over The Beat" once again. We preached to the choir though, cause the DJs loved this album just as much as we did. And then - bang! - today, I stumbled upon this album again. I haven't listened to Technotronic for 18 years, not counting the occasional "Jam" or "Get Up" in discos. I wondered whether I would still like the album or put it back on the shelf as a precious piece of nostalgia. Even though it brought back a lot of memories, to my surprise and set aside the memories, it has aged well. The music is still fresh and is perfect for any activity (dancing, running, treadmill, cleaning, etc.). All in all, Technotronic is still great after all these years and this album should be on the shelf of everyone with a little love for real and good dance music.
Fantastic, but...Why to change the cover art? August 4, 2008 Antonio Lisboa (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
When I was 15 this was one of the best LP one could have to party, and now I'm 30 it still is. As I'm replacing my old LPs for CDs, I've just bought it and to play it was a great experience, I've forgotten how wonderfull it is. But I give it 4 stars just for a fact that disappointed me: Why have they changed the cover art? I was really expecting the original cover (with that lady in black and green) but I received from Amazon a totally different pink cover... and the worst: where are the lyrics??? But I must confess that even with this horrible new cover it's fabulous!
Pump it up June 25, 2008 N. Gause (NC)
If you like a lttle beat You can pump it up If yoou can't dance you can exercise to this one!!!
driving house from Belgium.. January 7, 2008 Muriel Lee
Technotronic probably had THE most danced to album on the UK in 1989-1990. It's what all the clubs were playing, and it's as fabulous today as it was then. Even the most diehard anti-dance-folks can't stand still when this is booming, and the driving beat is perfect for exercising, power-walking and treadmills.
