This is a wonderful invention. Has the ability to record AM FM radio Broadcast,MP3 player, and voice on the go. unattended, recordings from AM FM any time, any where.Very easy to program, A fantastic piece of Electronics. Thanks POGO..

To start out this radio is one of a kind with the exception of the Mini radio made by the same people. I applauded them for creating it. It does have a lot of poor qualities but it works for what I need it for.

I'm a coast to coast fan and I can't stay up for the whole show so it is the best way to record George, Art and Ian and listen when I go to bed. I could actually use another one so I can listen to the entire show and not get cut off when the new nights show starts.

Problems-

Reception- I live in a good reception area and getting a good reception with this radio is somewhat of an art. I figured it out though and just keep the radio in the right position before recording begins.

Radio Navigation- This takes some getting use to and I've had it for over a year. It is difficult to program but you can figure it out.

Memory- If you leave it off the charger for more than 8 hours you will lose the time of day which will mess up your recordings.

SD card- largest is 1 gb- I could use 4 gigs. I like to take it to my cabin where there is no reception- It works wonderful up there as I can listen to a whole show over a couple of nights. I just bought an additional SD card for my next trip.

Buttons- they are also confusing and the manual is not the greatest at all.
Bottom line it works and it is the only thing out their of its kind. If they make another one I would compare it for sure. The newer version in the mini seems like it it has more new disadvantages than what little it adds.

It is all it is advertised to be, except for 3 features I expected or at least hoped for, that weren't addressed in the description.
1. BOOKMARKS on each recordings as I'm accustomed to with TIVO. In reviewing voice radio recordings, I may listen to part of one recording,stop to return later. If I start reviewing a 2nd voice recording, there IS NO PLACEMARK (BOOKMARK) SAVED FOR THE 1ST RECORDING, AS WITH A TIVO TYPE RECORDING. ONLY ONE BOOKMARK, FOR THE MOST RECENTLY LISTENED TO VOICE RECORDING, IS KEPT. In voice playbacks unlike music, it isn't desireable to start from the begining, and wind thru to the desired passage, everytime you may return to it.
2. AM reception wasn't as good as with similar sized AM/FM radios, such as found at Radio Shack.
3. Listening volume levels are inadequate with the device by itself, in contrast to similar sized AM/FM radios, which are adequate. Earphones or plugin external speakers are needed to hear in all but the quietest listening environments. This encumbers walk around-the-home or in-the auto listening with headphones or plug-in devices.
In summary, it would be perfect by my measure, if these shortcomings were addressed. This could be accomplished with multiple bookmarks added to the software, larger batteries, and physical size to allow higher volume output and AM reception. I have a 5 year old 4" x 2.25" x0.75" AM/FM radio with 2 AAA batteries which overcome the last 2 limitations.
Since a model with less features came prior to the current one, perhaps the supplier may eventually offer a model that addresses these considerations.

I had looked for months for a good MP3 player that would handle MP3 and several other common formats as well as have a radio that played AM and FM. Only the Pogo could do this. I addtion it has a timer record feature, internal clock and calander and microphone for voice recording. True the manual is not very good. It does not cover all of the features and menues well, but they are no too difficult to figure out. The audio on the built in speaker is what you would expect for such a small radio, very poor monaural. However the audio on the included earphones is outstanding. It even has a very functional eqaulizer that does work despite some of the reviews. I use it to listen to music record radio shows. and to listen to talking books. it is a snap to trnasfer these file from any computer to the unit though data transfer is a bit slow. the 1 gi memory card is adeqaute for several hours of high quality music and talk. The battery life has been in excess of seven hours. Get the FM adapter as an extra to play the sounds through your cars FM radio. It will charge and keep the unit running through the USB connector. Note that not all FM units with USB will woirk, but the one Pogo sells will. Their support is not toll free and is not very good either, nor their web site. But the unit is worth the price.

I ordered this item for my daughter's birthday on 10/07. Instead of using free shipping, I opted for standard shipping, so that it would arrive on time. Amazon indicated to me by e-mail that it had been shipped on 10/01. But when I tracked the item on 10/06 (a Sat.), it had not been delivered and was not due to be delivered until 10/09! It was supposed to take between 3-5 days for standard shipping. Obviously, it had not been shipped on 10/01! When I called Amazon, all they were willing to do was refund my shipping. Don't believe them when they tell you when an item will arrive. Previously, I had been pleased with the speed of their shipping, but this is a disappointment. One of the reviews had indicated that the same item had been shipped using "free shipping" and had been received in just 2 days. It's hard to believe.
